Tidings of comfort and joy
December 14, 2021
Dear friend,
I hope this message finds you well and as relaxed as one can hope for at this point. It's so easy to get caught up in the rush at this time of year, and even before the December crunch, we were all experiencing the strain of keeping up “business as usual” in a world that feels anything but. I’d say we’re due for a hearty dose of comfort and joy right about now.
Whether you’re running a mile a minute or looking forward to a long winter’s nap, I hope you’ll take a moment to check out the resources on my website. All are designed to help you feel more grounded and skillful and less alone or stressed. You might even laugh occasionally if you share my odd sense of humor. :)
If you’re totally pressed for time, check out one of my 2-minute Nurture or Release videos. (They're grouped into playlists here.) Even if you’ve already seen it, I highly recommend a viewing of The Wisdom of Sweatpants.
And if you happen to have a bit more time as we approach year’s end, why not give my online mini-course on managing stress by shifting our self-talk a try? I rely on the content in that course every single day, and it’s made a huge difference in my experience.
Finally, if you’re in the market for an inexpensive gift (for yourself or others!), please consider my book Well on Your Way. Through December 31st, I’m donating 100% of the profits to Second Harvest Foodbank, so a purchase means giving twice! While the examples in the book come from my life as an assistant professor, readers in and outside of academia have told me that the book's candid stories, evocative questions, and poems offered support and encouragement that felt universal.
Many thanks for holding some space in your inbox for me. However you choose to spend the remainder of the year, I hope it’s just what you need.
Take good care,
Elizabeth
