Daring to dream
February 10, 2025
Dear friend,
Many of us are finding the world to be deeply challenging right now, and I feel extremely privileged that, at least at the moment, I am sheltered from some of the scary things that are happening. As a result, I feel called to put as much positive and calming energy out into the world as I can.
If you are in a state of fear or overwhelm, I want you to know that you are not alone. Please curate what you consume, and take care of yourself. True self-care requires being self-aware, so we might start by giving ourselves the gift of time and space. Taking even 2 minutes to sit quietly and notice what’s swirling in our minds, what emotions are rising up, and how we’re feeling in our body can work wonders.
You may also want to check out my free mini-course on managing stress by shifting our self-talk. Though we can’t always change our external circumstances, we can shift our thoughts to mitigate the negative impact.
And if you are an academic worried about the possible loss of grant-funding, DEI-connected work, etc., and you’re looking for opportunities to come together, please reply to let me know. I would be happy to arrange a free gathering to share ideas and support.
Finally, if you’re feeling like you have the capacity for a little exploration, and I hope you do, please join me as I walk and spontaneously muse on the possibility of living the life of our dreams. If this intrigues you at all, please give it a listen (it’s only 3 minutes long), and be sure to let me know if you’d like to hear more.
As always, thanks for being here, and thanks for being you.
Love,
Elizabeth
