family financial education

I spent several years studying the ways young people acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and habits they need to become financially healthy and capable adults. This work has strengthened my belief that helping our kids build financial capability doesn't have to be stressful or overwhelming. There are many simple things we can do, and I have provided links to some helpful resources below.

Remember that even if you lack confidence in your own ability to manage money, you are making financial decisions every day... analyzing tradeoffs, assessing wants and needs, setting goals.  By making these decisions visible to your children — and by encouraging them to practice making their own financial decisions when they are ready — you expose them to a wealth of experiences... no pun intended. ;)

Best wishes for a financially healthy future!
