Webinar this Tuesday, and more!
April 26, 2026
How are you? Are your sea legs getting stronger as we continue to ride these waves of unpredictability? I hope so! And I hope the offerings I’ve shared below will help us surf a little more steadily, no matter the tides.
First, I’m excited to be leading an NCFDD guest webinar this Tuesday, April 28th, at 1 pm ET! It’s open to all NCFDD members, and we’ll be exploring ways to manage stress by shifting our self-talk, a topic that’s close to my heart. I hope you’ll join me and say hello in the chat! Please invite others, as well. If you’re not an NCFDD member but would like to attend, let me know. I’m happy to organize a separate session if there’s enough interest.
Second, we’ve recently reorganized the resources page on my website to make it easier to find the on-demand support you need. We’re continuing to refine things, so if you have suggestions, we’d love to hear!
Finally, through May 15th, I’ll be donating $10 to Badger Prairie Needs Network—a 100% volunteer organization celebrating its 40th anniversary—for every copy of Well on Your Way and Well in the Lead sold. If either book has been on your list (for yourself or as a gift for colleagues or friends!) this is the perfect time to buy and feel extra-good about the purchase. ☺️ I’d be grateful if you'd spread the word.
That’s all for now. I'd love to hear from you, so please don't hesitate to reach out with an update, a request, or a quick hello anytime.
As always, thanks for being here, and thanks for being you!
Elizabeth
Have you had a chance to check out the meditative contemplations my good friend and colleague (and mindfulness teacher extraordinaire) Victoria Fontana and I created for academics? If so, we'd love your feedback! And if not, why not give one a try? I suspect you'll find that taking a few minutes to slow down has big positive payoffs both now and down the road.
You may know that I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how, for some of us, the academic environment is not merely challenging, but traumatizing. Exploring Pathways to Peace is a narrated slideshow that reviews common sources of trauma in academia (Preview: it’s not only catastrophic events), describes some of the symptoms, and offers tools for healing. I hope the presentation provides a path forward, whether you’ve experienced academic trauma yourself or you’re seeking to help others.
Whether you’re feeling empowered and energized or overwhelmed and exhausted, Resourced & Ready: The Ultimate R&R provides keys to finding balance and building resilience. I hope you’ll return to it often as you continue to navigate this uncertain terrain.
To support that process, I’ll be digging into a different key in each of my upcoming newsletters. We’ll explore the core concepts and consider simple ways to put them into practice. Next up is a doozy: Establish Boundaries.
